The team

The people behind Bella Sláinte.

Leadership

Built for this work.

Jessica Martin

Founder & CEO

Jessica founded Bella Sláinte because the people with the most at stake in Australia's care systems shouldn't have to master policy language to get what they need, and because AI, done with care, can finally close that gap rather than widen it.

She spent most of the last decade as APAC Head of Strategy for Privacy, Responsibility, Regulatory & Risk at Google, sitting between policy, product and government across twenty markets on the questions AI is now forcing everyone else to answer. Earlier, strategy roles at Deloitte and Holcim. Stanford AI 2025. IAPP AI Governance Professional. CPA, GAICD.

Her own health journey taught her what the data already shows: outcomes turn on information, in the right form, at the right moment, for the most vulnerable most of all.

Dr David Haberlah

CTO & Chief Data/AI Officer

David joined Bella Sláinte to deliver equitable care through trusted AI to the people the NDIS serves.

Equity, Trust and Evidence: audit trails and data controls keep participants in control of their story. A second set of eyes: Bella reads plans, catches gaps, flags conflicts across reports, and shows its working, so Support Coordinators spend less time on paperwork and participants don't have to retell their story to be heard. Principal architect of BellaAssist's privacy-preserving document pipeline. Previously AI Transformation Lead at SiteMinder. MBA (QUT), PhD (Adelaide).

His benchmark: AI for the participant, their carers and support coordinators, and a functioning system, co-designed with participants and practitioners, defensible to regulators and auditors.

Laura Gandy

Chief Financial Officer

Laura joined Bella Sláinte after 18 years at Google, leading through a period of rapid global growth. Most recently she led APAC Controllership and served on the Google Finance Leadership team as the business scaled across APAC — running enterprise finance operations, reporting and product expansions at hyper-scale. A Chartered Accountant (FCA – ICAEW) and GAICD with 25 years across strategic finance, controllership, and multi-jurisdiction operating discipline; earlier chapters at Deloitte (Audit & Assurance) and Arthur Andersen (Corporate Recovery). Laura works as Jessica's commercial and financial partner on the architecture of the business. Focus: building scalable, compliant financial foundations for Bella Sláinte's next stage — so the team can stay focused on the people Bella Sláinte exists to help.

Georgia Ryburn — illustrated portrait

Georgia Ryburn

Chief Operating Officer

Georgia joined Bella Sláinte because she is passionate about the intersection of systems thinking, civic leadership, and operational discipline. As COO, she owns the day-to-day rhythm of Bella Sláinte, across delivery, programme management, and commercial operations. Formerly Deputy Mayor and Councillor of the Northern Beaches of Sydney, and having spent the last decade in management consulting as a Director at Scyne Advisory and PwC Australia, her work focused on reforming national policy agendas in complex stakeholder environments, driving system-wide change, and building long-term institutional trust within communities. A Masters of Management graduate and GAICD, Georgia's focus is building the operational backbone that lets Bella Sláinte scale with integrity, without losing sight of the people it exists to help.

Jem Muharrem — illustrated portrait

Jem Muharrem

Business Development & NDIS Advisory

Jem joined Bella Sláinte because he has spent the last decade and more inside the problem Bella exists to solve, and knows what "build with, not for" has to mean on the ground.

Previously Chief Executive and Executive Director at Studio ARTES Group, NSW's pre-eminent arts service for adults with disability, leading the transition from block-funding to the NDIS and winning national recognition for Studio A. At The Benevolent Society, he repositioned the former NSW Clinical Services post-acquisition, driving geographic expansion and stakeholder relationships for Australia's first social benefit bond to reach maturity. Co-Founder and Executive Director at Take Charge Assessment & Therapy. MBA. Classical musician. Precision and humanity belong in the same sentence.

Mike Katayama

Go-to-Market Director

Senior digital sales and marketing leader with 16 years of experience driving growth across APAC and EMEA through data-driven strategy and scalable digital sales initiatives. Most recently Google APAC Ads Privacy Lead, engaging with the business community on privacy and AI governance. Previously Head of Authorized Buyers sales (formerly DoubleClick Ad Exchange) in Japan; led ad agency partnerships across Tokyo and Singapore; ran digital change management projects for APAC news businesses with the Google News Initiative. Guest lecturer at INSEAD on privacy in digital marketing. Earlier career at Dentsu Razorfish in Tokyo and independent agencies in Seattle. Based in the Netherlands.

Kim Wong-See

Customer Engagement Lead

Kim joined Bella Sláinte because the people most affected by these systems should be inside the team building for them. She is a parent of an NDIS participant; built with, not for is foundational when that voice sits at the table. As Customer Engagement Lead, she works directly with families, Support Coordinators, and providers, translating what the system feels like from the inside back into product and customer decisions. Operational NDIS experience across three vantage points: Support Coordinator at Proveda (current), Plan Manager at Plan Manage Assist, and Therapy Assistant supporting children and adults across physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy at EarlyEd and NAPA Sydney. Earlier career as Credit Analyst, Structured Finance at Fitch Ratings (RMBS, ABS, CMBS), then Senior Lending Officer at Investec. She reads the NDIS Pricing Arrangements like a credit analyst, which is exactly what billing pathway validation needs. Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance), UTS. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance.

Peter Martin — illustrated portrait

Peter Martin

Co-Design Lead

Leads Bella's co-design practice — the sustained, structured engagement with participants, Support Coordinators, allied health practitioners, planners, plan managers, and small business operators that shapes what BellaAssist becomes. Specialises in building solutions: translating lived experience and sector insight into product requirements that survive contact with reality. The co-design programme Peter runs is why BellaAssist is built with the NDIS ecosystem rather than for it.
